Make your own fresh salsa recipe to spice up your favourite meats or fish
Hot Tomato Salsa
A fresh salsa recipe that is great with lamb cutlets
4 roma tomatoes,chopped, 3 shallots, 2 tablespoons sweet chiili sauce, 1 tablespoon chopped cotiander
Spray pan with oil. Saute tomatoes and shallots for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir through sauce and simmer for a further minute. Stir in coriander
Thai Cucumber Salsa
3 tablespoons fish sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 lime- juiced, 1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce, 1 shallot- thinly sliced, 1 small red chilli-deseeded, finely chopped, 1/3 cup mint leaves, finely chopped
Place fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, and sweet chilli in a bowl, stir until sugar is dissolved. Add cucumber, shallot, chilli and mint to sauce mixture. Stir to combine. Stand for 10 minutes. Serve with grilled prawns or chicken
Tomato, Red Onion and Balsamic Salsa
2 ½ tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, 1 garlic clove, crushed, 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar, 500g roma tomatoes, roughly chopped, 1 small red onion, finely diced, ¼ cup parsley- finely chopped
Place oil, garlic and vinegar in a bowl. Add tomatoes, onion and parsley. Season with salt and pepper and stir to combine. Stand for 10 minutes. Serve with barbecued steak or lamb chops
Avocado, Lime and Coriander Salsa
2 avocado in a bowl. Spoon over 2 tablespoons lime juice. Toss gently to coat. Add oil, onion and coriander to avocado. Add Tabasco sauce to taste. Toss to combine. Stand for 5 minutes. Serve this fresh salsa recipe with chicken, pork or prawns
Mango and Chilli Salsa
2 chillies, seeded and sliced thinly, green shallots, sliced thinly, 1 small glove garlic, crushed, 1 ½ tablespoons lime juice, 1 tablespoon fresh chopped coriander or ½ teaspoon dried, 1 large mango, chopped finely.
Toss all together just before serving. Serve with grilled fish
